Petr Vadura ( born in 1953) is originally from Prague and since 1979 he has lived and and worked mainly in France. In 2003 he extended his operations to his native Czech Republic. He now spends time in Amsterdam and Prague.
Since the end of 1980,working from his Paris studio, he has mainly focused on illustration, posters, textile desidn and furniture for French companies.
Petr Vadura dedicates since 1997 his time mainly to objects. His porcelain vase Buddha, designed for the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, was sold in the top shops of the world`s capital cities.
In 1999 Petr Vadura was commissioned by French crystal company Saint-Louis, the resulting work being a prestigious flakon bottle for the year 2000 coming in four variations and a numbred series.
Another prestigious client was the French company Christofle, for whom Petr Vadura has designed two vases and a collection of table glass. In 2003 Petr Vadura began working with the Moser company.
There were since many works arising during five years frome this working relationship withe the famous Czech mark Moser: two sets of drinking glasses and many vases including uniques pieces.
In the same time Petr Vadura started to design his own glass objects under the name petr vadura design. He was developing a unique collection of luxury blown and hand-made glass which was fast gaining admirers in the Czech Republic and Paris, as well as in several other countries, including the USA. Modern and yet timless, this collection was employing traditional glass-blowing methods and old glass technics in an original way whilst ceating contemporary shapes with new optical effects. All of this pieces were hand -blownin Czech glass factories in very short series or as unique pieces.
